Quality
I often work on projects to make sure we are ahead of the game on technical developments
to ensure customer satisfaction and confidence in the Bhs brand. That can be anything from new
bedding to the next super-absorbent soft towel! It's a real hands-on role, involving both in-depth
product knowledge and team working skills.
What I love is the people and the product! I very much enjoy how much involvement I have with the
buying and merchandising teams. In some other companies I know that the quality team can be left
out on a limb but at Bhs Home division we are included every step of the way and have the opportunity
to influence product development. I cover a diverse range of product which means every day is different -
it keeps me interested, and on my toes!

I am part of the Womenswear Quality team and am responsible for the fitting and sealing of garments
before they go into production. This involves approving every sample, and checking everything is as it
should be so that we can 'seal the sample'. Once this is completed the garment can be put into production.
I produce test reports to help ensure that our garments are fit for purpose and are the right size for
our customers. The tests include those for shrinkage and colourfastness. I love the diversity of my job
as I have the chance to work on four different departments, which means I am responsible for the quality
of a wide range of garments.
